I was impressed to find out that this bin is made in New Zealand for an American company. It is well made and thoughtfully engineered. The turning tool is all American made. The thickness of the plastic is similar to a Rubbermaid trash can. It’s very sturdy when assembled and staked into the earth. The lid snaps in place securely. The bottom is open so that the compost can be exposed to the soil beneath and allow the microbiome and worms to become a vital part of your compost. I recommend starting with a 4 inch layer of straw at the bottom. Sprinkle about an inch of green compostable materials and top that with a sprinkle of compost accelerating bacteria powder. Top that with a layer of brown material like torn up cardboard, egg crates, straw or dead leaves. Water lightly. Repeat these steps and you will be well on your way to a steaming compost pile. This bin has a 65 gallon capacity. I highly recommend it for anyone with a small garden who wants to make their own plant food and keep organic waste out of our landfills. Be careful not to over tighten the nuts onto the included plastic bolts. The turning tool is well made and works really well at aerating the pile and getting older bottom material commingled with newer material. This is a really great product. It also looks pretty good tucked into a corner and away from the home or garage. Compost piles can self ignite if the conditions are right. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

It’s second time purchase this bin, easy to assembling, reasonably sturdy, effective to compost the garden and kitchen green wast, but one screw was missing, it’s difficult to contact seller, I have to find similar screw from home deport.

This compost container was everything I hoped for. The sides are very sturdy. It was easy to put together. I also like all the air holes it has in it. I love the tool that came with it!

I did a lot of research before purchasing this bin — trying to understand the difference between standing bins and rotating ones, the size and convenience of the “in” and “out” openings, and the methods to get good compost. This was a gift for my son-in-law, and I decided on this bin because it is a good “in between” size — not huge, and not as small as the rotating models. Based on my research it’s an excellent size for a beginning composter on a typical half-acre suburban lot. It is significantly easier to manage than the “turning” models as well — in assembly, putting materials into the composter, and getting compost out. The fact that it came with the right tool for turning the compost easily made it an excellent bargain — those tools are expensive! That plus the “how to” booklet made this a perfect all-in-one gift.

For the price, this product is amazing. I took 1 star off because, like a few others, this was missing a washer and screw. Small issue but shouldn’t happen. Other than that, I love that the unit came with the metal turner. They also included a little compost guide. The unit is made in New Zealand and holds 65 gallons. My husband and I were skeptical about how it will hold up because it feels a tad flimsy and we were not able to really secure it deep in the ground (snowy winter in upstate NY). We were certain animals/weather will knock it down soon. However, it has been a few weeks and it is still standing strong and it feels like it has secured itself in place! The lid locks securely in place and is easy to open. Loving it and may buy another one!

7/29/2023 received my compost bin. Easy to assemble. Sturdy material.
      Missing 1 sliding door
      Missing handle on lid
Lid does not fit snugly and I will have to keep a brick on top to keep out the critters.
How do I contact the company to get a replacement door?

This is a great way to compost kitchen scraps, leaves, etc. Easy to use – lid lifts up, but also locks easily. Good size, and sits on the ground – no need to move regularly. I’m amazed how much I used to throw into the trash (no garbage disposal).
