The Old Coach –
I recently purchased this compost tumbler, and I must say, it has been a game-changer in managing organic waste in my garden. Here’s why I highly recommend it:
Perfect Size: One of the first things that attracted me was its size. It’s just right for a backyard garden or even a small urban space. With a capacity of 37 gal, it’s able to handle a considerable amount of organic waste without taking up too much room.
Quality Build: The construction of this compost tumbler is impressive. Made from durable materials, it can withstand outdoor elements without corroding or breaking down. The sturdy design ensures that it will last for years, making it a worthwhile investment for any gardener or environmental enthusiast.
Affordable Price: I think it is priced well. Most others are over $100.
Easy to Use: Another aspect I appreciate is design. The large opening makes it easy to add kitchen scraps and yard waste, while the tumbling mechanism requires minimal effort to turn.
Overall, I’m happy with my purchase. It’s the right size for my needs, built to last, and comes at an affordable price point. If you’re looking for an efficient way to compost organic waste and enrich your garden soil, I highly recommend buying this.

I got the composter on March 27, 2023. Not a big issues to put it together. The instructions are ok, just pay attention. It seems to be a solid product.
I started loading the composter at the begging of April and by mid May I had first round of compost. Then, at the beginning of June I had the second round. Now, June 23, the third batch is almost ready and it 2-3 weeks, the forth batch will be ready. I am very surprised well works. It really works 🙂.
My advice… read, understand and follow the instructions, what to put in the composter, check the humidity once per week. Do not rush to add a lot of water. 2-3 cup today and then check again in 1 week. Have handy some pieces of cardboard, sawdust… and add it if the compost becomes too wet. Wait another week and test the humidity. You can get cardboard from Costco, I get sawdust from a small plant that make stairs. Recently I got it from a mushroom farm because the they use it as growing environment.
I live in Toronto area and there are a lot of raccoons, mice and squirrels. I had absolutely no issue with them. I put always vegetable scrap and egg shell. There is no bad odor coming.
Some people had complained that emptying the cured batch is difficult… it is ok, not the best system. Overall the composter does the main job very well. It is above my expectations.

Assembly time was about an hour. Be sure to read the instructions when starting the base (you want wide, not narrow) and securing the first/top panel. Using a driver and a ratchet for the individual bolts will help speed the process along, since the panels are secured with 56 individual bolts. Tumbling is very smooth, and the base is steady and secure. It has good aeration you can control, and the top panel slides/opens easily. Looks good in the yard, composts well, and it is priced cheaply. Made in Canada also a bonus! Happy composting.

I read them all and basically it all has to do with the eternal “not my fault, it’s a piece if junk !” : easier to blame the item.
It’s an incredibly solid machine and very clever. The assembly is time consuming but IF you were to pay for it to come in one piece it would cost a fortune.
WARNING: You shouldn’t have kids around while you put it together. ..nasty words will fly out of your mouth.
1â—Źâ—ŹBe certain you make sure the vents face up when you start.
2â—Źâ—ŹThe FIRST PANEL goes into place to the right of that first space and then continue one at a tine.
3â—Źâ—Źâ—Ź Most important AND frustrating, make sure the center separator fits in the panel grooves or you will have to start over.
4â—Źâ—ŹThe two long screws are for the shafts to secure to the legs.
It is a great machine !!
SECOND UNIT:
Learned a lot from the first. Still the best Composter for any money. I wanted to address the water in the compost mix issue. Each panel has tabs at the top to fit into guide holes in the previous panel. IF each panel tab IS NOT inserted into these guide holes, they in turn become weeping holes which guide rain water in. Personally l also opted for using 100% silicone putty at each panel joint…little extra for huge return.
THE MAIN TOP is about the partition wall.
With the second unit l decided l didn’t need the composter to be divided into two halves. It sounds good on paper but l can load our new unit with no divider, faster with no problem. PLUS, the partition wall is NOT a structural entity. It can be left out which also greatly facilitates assembly. In fact l even cut away the dividing bar at the door opening to make access easier both at loading time and emptying the compost when done.
This machine is designed to end up rigid as a tank. Once you made it as waterproof as possible you will not have any weight problem. It’s like any other gardener project where you learn new tricks as you go. THIS has been a great addition to having a healthy garden growth without chemicals.

I finally decided that I needed to quit throwing grass clippings and kitchen waste in the landfill. This was a very low cost alternative to get started on composting. Construction was simple, but a bit laborious. I think there are about 50+ screws that hold the panels together. However, the panels are so well made that they fit together perfectly.
I started off by filling both chambers of the drum. Actually (if I’d read the instructions), one is for new organics to be added while the other one is doing the composting. I already have one batch of compost spread on my vegetable garden and a second batch is close to being ready.
The material compacts or ‘composts’ down to about 50% of its original volume. The final product from each chamber is around 5 gallons when emptied from the drum.
I did buy compacting starter material to speed up the process, and with the hot summer we are having, it seems about 3-4 weeks is generating usable compost. You can also buy a paperback book on Amazon that leads you through composting. That is well worth the cost and time to read.
We have noticed a significant decrease in kitchen trash going to the landfill, so now it is being recycled into my garden.

This is a wonderful problem, great value. It’s really easy to put together.. I don’t know why there were so many 1 star reviews saying it was complicated and confusing and hard.. it was totally straightforward and super super easy (especially with 2 people). I will say that the instructions aren’t very descriptive and not real helpful but.. anybody with at least 2 brain cells can figure it out pretty easy, not much room for error. Just go over the instructions real quick to get an idea and you’ll get the picture. With it put together it looks great, super easy to spin when it’s full of stuff. Put it over dirt or grass because it does leak a tiny bit (especially if you’re putting a lot of water heavy kitchen scraps it in). Just be sure to even it out with dry yard scraps and it’s not that big of a deal. Anyways overall great product, will be getting another one if needed.
