Just got this light today and am already impressed by how bright it is. Covers a wide area and works perfect for larger plants, especially plants like a monstera which I train to have all leaves grow the same direction (as pictured). The tripod base seems very stable and there is also the option to hang the light horizontally. The light does seem to warm up quite a lot more than my other LED’s but not enough to be too concerning. Definitely a good bang for your buck. Does not have a timer which is unfortunate but overall, great light!

    2. Ray Phillips

This light is probably the brightest grow light I own! It covers a large area. Very easy to assemble. I got it on sale and it had a $10 off coupon. Totally worth the money. I just went back and bought another!

Initially, I wasn’t going to write a review, as I just received the light and haven’t had a chance to use it at home, but after reading several not so great reviews, I had to let other potential buyers know that this is a decent light that is easy to assemble and seems quite sturdy. It really doesn’t seem like it will fall over or that the tripod legs will fall off! The manual that came with the light offers clear, easy to read instructions and mentions how to tighten the base, if it loosens up later. They even included an Allen wrench for this purpose. I set the light up at our new office, just to test it out and be sure I wanted to keep it (I do), after reading some other reviews. I think this light will be perfect for my Adenium and the caudex plants I keep at my beachside home which receives very little sunlight during the summer months. Overall, a simple grow light that should last and serve its purpose. I noticed the light bar gets quite warm, but this was also mentioned in the instruction manual.

Oh I like these – compared to most LED plant lights they add height – having a stand makes them easy to position anyway (can also be hung) – very light but the base is quite sturdy. I just hope it lasts. The base is a small tripod design it’s quite slick but a screw in concrete pod of some type would be easier to position and take up less space. Overall a good buy. I see they just ran out was going to buy another 🙁 winter is especially bad for light in my warehouse condo – so this is welcome – but now I want more.

      Note –
Light brightness is measured in lumens not kelvin. The whiter light at 5000k appears brighter than the warm white but at equal lumens that’s an optical illusion to your eye. The warm light and cooler white are both the same power. Only one version has lumens output marked. Plants like blue light for green growth and red light for flowering and fruiting – the warm white light has reddish LEDs as well as the white. There is no total number of LEDs in the 5000k lamp listed either. Plants like all visible light except for green it doesn’t really absorb it and it reflects it hence plants look green. That said the brighter the light the better and these are quite bright. The height aspect is great for taller plants.

I bought two of these with the original intention to hang them from my ceiling on chains. But when they got here I realized they had tripod mounts. I like the idea of having them portable, so I went that route instead. That worked out really great, because I end up adjusting them as I get new plants or adjust the locations of my existing plants.

I also like that they have a “latching” power button, meaning it remembers its setting when you unplug it and plug it back in. So you can use it with smart outlets to set a schedule. A lot of the lights on Amazon have their own built-in timers but You can’t schedule them with an app or easily change the schedule beyond their static settings.

These are also full spectrum lights, so they don’t put off an annoying color and also put out the full spectrum that plants expect. Contrary to popular belief, plants use more than just the red/violet/ultraviolet spectrum. I’ve also used these when I just needed a very bright light on a stand. They light up a very large area, very effectively. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy them again.

If you want max light for your plants, get this light!!! It has made a huge difference with my plants. Very affordable, super bright and I love how tall it is. You get alot of bang for your buck with this grow light. Highly recommend!!

    7. Laura N

I’ve had some cheap strip LED grow lights on a stand in the corner of my office. I tried out the new Barrina floor lamp here and wow! It really lights up the stand and makes those other lights look pathetic! It’s a natural color lighting too, which is more comfortable on my eyes than lights that give off a pure white. Don’t stare into it though because it’s BRIGHT! It definitely blinds me if I come at it from the side, so it would be good if angled toward plants in a corner. I took some PPFD readings from a phone app (Photone) to know what to expect. It’s powerful and will definitely contribute to plant growth! For reference, my other lights on this stand read between 15- 30 PPFD (ranging about 12-2″ from plants) and this is reading 100-179 PPFD (12″-6″ from plants). This is much brighter than those strip lights! I’m hoping to use this to help my monsteras grow or possibly other high-light plants.

Also, it does get hot. I thought I could maybe grab it and move it and then second guessed that choice when I noticed how warm it felt before touching. I’ve burnt myself on some sansi bulbs before so I’m a little hesitant to actually touch it and say whenever it’s dangerously hot.

    8. Natalie Thayer

Really helped my plants grow. All my Hoyas are now blooming, thanks to this lamp.

    9. jackson jones

This light is very bright and you cannot look at it directly.

I put it at one of my plant corner since I was looking for more light for my plants in the winter.

As other reviews mentioned, the triangular base is a bit big. It is very stable, but it takes up quite a bit of space. I put a 10 inch plastic plant tray to keep the base smaller. It works, but makes it slightly unstable, but as long as you don’t knock it, I would recommend this method to keep the base a bit smaller.

The installation is simple. The light came in two parts: the light bulb part and the tripod part.

My tropical plants grow faster since I have gotten this light.

    10. Ray Phillips

I waited until the plants I have this on put out at least 3 leaves each before making this review. I use this light on my giganteum, thai con as well as a white knight. I’m big, beautiful, great variegated leaves and fenestrations.

    11. Lily

      C’est très bien.

    12. Laura N

I do love this light, it is very broad coverage of any area and is great to set up in front of plant stands because it evenly distributes light to the whole stand. The only downsides are that it does get very hot and it takes up alot of energy. When It is off my energy bill is about $15 lower a month!
