Sucked up all the leaves in my yard and I was impressed how well it worked.
Had lots of suction and had no problem sucking up large volumes of leaves.
The catch bag did it’s job.
Not sure about the blowing part as I did not really use that function.
I would buy this Black and Decker BV6000 again.

This was a replacement for the same model I have been using for about 5 years. It is fairly powerful blower as well as yard vacuum. The first one was pretty durable but suffered damage when is tumbled off the roof. The power switch broke off. The original model also came with a shoulder strap that made handling better, but the new did not include that strap in spite of that there is a place for one to attach. That is why I rated it four stars instead five. The strap for the original was very handy, but the nylon webbing deteriorated (disintegrated a few months ago and I was hoping the new came with that. No joy there. Compared to gas powered blowers, just as powerful, but quieter, and no noxious exhaust, a real advantage in my view. Compared to cordless models, a little more complicated in managing the power cord, but the unit is more powerful, lighter, and far less expensive. I noted in comparative shopping, the cordless models have shorter run times in a single charge than how much time it takes me to do my yard, a real disadvantage because I would need extra batteries that are very pricey. Overall, a good choice for someone with big jobs and wanting to be environmentally conscientious and minimize expense.

We previously had a Sun Joe that was similar and wheels on the bottom but it was still too heavy. So, we waited a few years to try another leaf blower and mulcher. I read reviews for this particular Black and Decker leaf blower and mulcher on multiple sites. We decided to buy it and see if it would help with cleaning up debris and cuttings in the backyard. I have fibromyalgia and join pain. It has gotten difficult to bend down or get on my knees to clean up the backyard. First off, I want to say the instructions and video are straightforward. I did not have any problems with assembly or using it. When reading the instructions, you will need to pay attention to which attachments you are putting together. The first set of instructions are for the blower. The second set of instructions are for the mulcher. I found the videos on this site very helpful for putting together the mulcher and using it. I have a large yard and barely filled the black nylon bag attachment. The mulching function nearly turned the leaves into small confetti. Another tip, DO use all the straps if you have pain or slight mobility issues. The belt for the mulcher I put on like a crossbody bag and the strap for the black nylon bag that holds the mulch, I put over my shoulder. Also, it has great suction power and if you have a desert or dirt yard like we do, I highly recommend wearing a mask and garden goggles/glasses. The dust blows through the fibers of the black nylon bag. In the box, they included two white heavy duty filtered bags to help reduce the dust. For the most part, this has made cleaning up the backyard so much easier for me. I just blow everything I want to pick up in a pile then use the mulcher. It definitely works for me. I highly recommend for small to medium clean up.

I used the B&D blower/vacuum/mulcher today for the first time, to clean up the leaves in our back yard. Our yard is roughly 1500sf and we have two big trees that dumped about 2/3 of their leaves that I needed to pick up.
The wind was very strong last night, so it took care of gathering the leaves into a few main areas in the yard so I just had to vacuum them up.
I did not use the blower function this time, only the vacuum/mulcher.
It worked great! I was so pleased with the suction power, much more than I was expecting. I did use it on the high seeing the whole time. It was able to make quick work of piles, as well as picking up the leaves that had been walked on and smashed into the grass.
It comes with a strap that clips onto the machine so you can put it across your shoulder/chest so a lot of the weight is on your shoulders and not on your arms.
It’s easy to maneuver and lightweight to start out. However, as you vacuum up the leaves, the collection bag gets heavy, so you then start to feel the weight. Nice thing is, the collection bag is very easy to snap on/off, and the zipper to empty it makes it easy to do so, as frequently as you need to.
I picked up all the leaves in the back yard, emptied the collection bag 5 or 6 times, and it all mulched down to fit into a 40 gal contractor bag. Awesome!
Thank you to another reviewer who warned of the dust from the collection bag. I heeded that warning and wore a mask, and it was very much needed. If you don’t wear glasses you may consider wearing some goggles or safety glasses too, to keep the dust out of your eyes.
Fair warning, you will get very dirty running the vac/mulch, so just plan on having to change your clothes and shower afterwards. A small price to pay for this machine that does a great job.
I would highly recommend this B&D blower/vacuum/mulcher.

First let me say I’m very happy with the style, design, and performance of this unit, but I was burned by two different flaws in black and deckers packaging and documentation. First it comes with tubes inside tubes. I quickly assembled the vacuum and had it running, but it keep acting like it was getting clogged, low and behold the small blower tube was still INSIDE the vacuum tube and getting sucked into the grinder.. lets just say this grinder is stronger than plastic, so much for that tube. Second the extension plug came loose from the wall, I plugged it back in but not far enough, In trying to figure out why the motor wasn’t working, I disassembled the vacuum tube to see whether there was blockage, and plugged the extension cord back in, but the motor refused to start. Just before I boxed it up to send it back, I put it all back together, I put the vacuum tube firmly back on motor unit, and tried a different extension cord.. It worked great. Bottom line, this unit has a kill switch inside the connection of the blower and vacuum tube connectors. If one or the other is NOT connected then the unit will NOT start, great safety device, but it would have been nice if the manually would have clearly stated that. It does say to make sure the tubes are firmly attached, but I figured that was for safety not for operation, silly me.
