I would give this 3.5 stars if I could. Others have said the assembly instructions are useless; I wouldn’t go that far, but they are really lacking in some simple best practices that could be learned from IKEA.
First: don’t NUMBER the pieces (this makes it confusing to say there are 2 piece 4s). Letter them.
Second: Put those letters on the pieces themselves!! There are several almost identical pieces, so it’s confusing and annoying that the pieces are not labeled. The only labeled part is the bag of hardware. The only thing that doesn’t need a label, in other words.
Third: Put stickers with “UP” and “OUTSIDE” or other similarly clear orientation cues on each piece. It took me 5X as long as it should have to assemble this because there is a specific orientation for each piece (both up/down and inside/outside), usually determined by where the bolt holes are, but it’s difficult to properly visualize this with just the one schematic and the unlabeled pieces. It becomes very clear only when you try to attach subsequent pieces and you have to unbolt everything you’ve done. I think this was likely the issue for folks who said their holes were not in the right places. They probably had a piece upside down.
Simple simple fixes that would make my review 4.5 stars.
5 stars would be if they shaved 1/2” off the bottom door so you can have it sitting on the ground (grass, mulch, whatever) and still be able to actually use the door. It’s flush with the bottom of the bin, so obviously, you can’t open it unless it’s on concrete or other similarly artificial surface. For newbies, you want your compost pile on actual natural ground.
Finally, I’m adding hinges to the lid. I wouldn’t subtract any stars for this, but it’s such a simple feature that greatly improves the design.

Looks good in the backyard.
Easy to assemble.
A bit expensive for what it is but could not find something different looking as good in the backyard.

This product was shipped in record time. I found the compost bin super easy to assemble, 15 mins tops. I might add a hook to the top to keep the clever critters out, but overall, I couldn’t have bought the wood and built this for less than what I paid plus the value of my time.

Despite negative reviews, every pre-drilled hole was accurate. Everything fit together perfectly. No parts were missing. Instructions were only pictures but were perfect. Completed assembly in an hour. Looks nice.
Lumber was a bit small Could have built my own with 2×4’s, self-drilling deck screws and standard boards; but would have needed MUCH more time. Nuts lock on to wood so you only need a screwdriver.

This was very hard to put together. The instructions are not clear and the pieces are not marked. One of the slats already came off the cover. I will need to glue it on to keep it together. Expect to have to redo some of the screws (I think they are screws and not nails, been awhile). It is a good size, holds a lot of weeds, etc.
I would buy it again, just remember if you buy this, you will have to reinforce it, once you finally get it together

This is my third composter after a tumbler and a worm farm. The magic about these types of composters is that it sits on the ground and allows worms to get right up in there. The other huge plus is that there is basically a constant flow of compost ready to be used from the bottom. No waiting for the whole bin to cure. The center of this thing can get HOT. The finished product is very nice. I basically put grass, leaves, wood chips, clippings off vegetable bushes, egg shells, and coffee grounds in there. Nothing that would attract rodents. All that stuff goes into the other composters.
Update-The boards come loose. They’re just screwed in. Bolts would have been better. So it lasted 2 years…

This is one of the most attractive compost bins I’ve seen and does not need to be hidden like my other bins.
The assembly instructions are pictorial rather than written, so you need to be careful in matching up the parts with the pictures (I assembled the pieces backwards the first time, but was able to put my second bin together very quickly.) All the drilled holes lined up perfectly and the bolts are good quality so I expect them to hold up well. The cedar fragrance is a nice bonus.

As much as I wanted it to work, there’s no way to assemble it as the alignment wasn’t checked before sending to a customer.
