I received it yesterday and today I put it together. I was very impressed with the quality of the pieces as I was pulling them out of the box. Every piece was wrapped in plastic or bubble wrap. I also had extra screws and nuts after putting it together. I put it together with the included screw driver except for the two bolts that hold the barrel to the frame. There I used a power tool and a wrench because the nuts have nylon locking in the nut threads and it was too hard to turn by hand. Holding the nuts on the inside in some places was a bit of a task since I have big fingers, but doable. The center divide piece is meant to be loose. I also believe it’s meant too have gaps so bacteria can easily cross over to the over side. The metal is obviously cheap and I wouldn’t expect it to last more than 5 years. It is well coated with an enamel like paint. I am seriously thinking about spraying the screws and other rustable areas with some paint to prevent rusting. For the price, it is not reasonable to expect stainless steel parts. It took about an hour by myself to put it together. It would have been a bit easier if I had someone to help hold some pieces in the beginning but it isn’t necessary. All in all I easily recommend this compost unit.

Purchased this bin because of the great reviews. With that being said I have not had the same experience with it that others have had. It was super easy to assemble, however, it does not stay together very well and the lid does not latch.

Since the Refuse company has requested that we recycle our food scraps, I have had to deal with the smell, flies, maggots, and washing out the garbage bin every few weeks because of the smell. I’m a backyard gardener, so I decided that I would recycle the food scraps in my own garden instead. This compost container was just the right size for my household. I’ve had it for a couple of months, and it hasn’t quite filled up yet. It reduces the smell and keeps the insects inside the container. I haven’t had it long enough to use the compost yet, but, so far, it looks like I won’t be dealing with the stinky recycle bin anymore and have the added benefit of making my own compost for free. This is a win-win purchase for me!

This composter is perfect for small garden. The bottom hatch makes pulling compost convenient. Easy to put together, but the plastic is rather thin. You will need to hand till and rotate in the composter, but it’s excellent for kitchen, scraps and garden clippings..

What a waste of money. Fell apart after 3 days. Seemed flimsy going together. Should have trusted my gut and sent it back. Think you will ever be able to easily mix your compost. Only think happening is the panels falling apart. Somethings are not meant to be snapped together like a compost bin.

It’s sturdy and took less then 5 minutes to put together and was the perfect size

Very easy to assemble. It seems very sturdy and easy to turn. It seems to work better if you spin it slowly, giving the compost time to drop to the bottom. If it spins too fast centrifugal force keeps the compost in one place not allowing it to mix.

Instructions leave you guessing. A billion tiny screws. Design could be better. Keeping since I put it together, but have not used yet.
