There is a definite learning curve when installing the clips. Once you get the hang of it, it’s quite easy. I knew there was a tarp for the cover instead of a lid before purchasing. Built this in my garage and easily moved it into my yard, with 2 people, contrary to those that say build in place. Don’t forget to purchase landscape staples to secure the sucker to the ground.

Wanted a large capacity bin with easy access from top and bottom. This one works perfectly for my needs. Easily secured it in place with three pieces of 6’ x 3/8” rebar driven through corner holes into the ground to keep it firmly anchored.. I use a long-handled twist tiller to easily turn and mix contents from the top, and a long-handled, multi-pronged cultivator to extract compost from the bottom through one of its three slide-up doors.

When the box arrived, I was a little worried about the number and thickness of the pieces. It looked like it was going to clumsy and awkward to assemble. I tried to short cut by connecting the panels before moving outside to complete. When I got outside and started setting up the layers, I realized that their was a method to the madness. It fully assembled in less than a half an hour. It seems sturdy and is easy to move without having pieces falling off in the process. The work that was done inside took much longer than I saved outside. Just do it all at once on location. It comes with a tarp for a lid which makes for easy filling but was not included on the assembly instruction as to how to keep it in place. I may need to get some bungy cords to hold it down since the wind has already blown it off.

I returned it because there was no lid for the top and I did not want the smell or bugs that come with a compost bin.

Assembly was easy, but was worried some of the plastic connectors would break under the force needed to snap into place. The tarp provided is inadequate for the job. I just used some rope through the tarp eyelets to tie it around the bin. It rained last week and cause water to collect in the tarp. It was enough water to cause the bin to collapse inward on itself. Fortunately the plastic is still new and flexible that none of the panels or connectors broke. This will be a great buy when a proper lid is provided.

I just got this so I can’t say much about the compost it produces. It is fairly easy to put together. Once done, it is a little difficult to move due to the size so I recommend putting it together where you will use it. It holds a lot of material. I started with some shredded cardboard, trimmings, weeds, soil and a bit of fertilizer. I only had enough to fill it about half way. I will continue to add over time and create layers. It is fairly easy to turn as the width lets you use any tool you want with ease. The tarp cover, though is a problem if it is not full. I had to place some 1x4s to hold the tarp up and some filled beverage bottles to act as weights. The bin has a lot of air openings which should reduce the number of times you need to turn the compost heap. A rigid cover would have been a nice addition, but the tarp works. There are decent sized openings at the bottom to pull out compost. I hope to make good use of those in a few months.

This things great. I was skeptical when I opened the tiny box and just saw two stacks of panels. I though there’s no way this things very big. Well I was wrong. It’s huge after you put it together. I didn’t blow around in all the wind we just had from a tornado a mile away, we got huge gusts of wind and it stayed put. It’s really easy to put together, a little heavy and awkward to move around after put together and hard to undo so put it together where you want it to stay.

Went up fast and easy just a lil small. Does a nice job at keeping compost inside and I feel like the tarp could be a tad bigger but as long as u keep something on top of it then it’s fine lol.
